A subsequent tour followed, this time on the East Coast and into Europe, including a show in London, before returning back to the States to tour with the band “Black Angels”. Allah Music Full Of Static

There is no faking here: the guys laugh, talk and get assaulted by a mic full of static electricity, and yet it works perfectly! You know you’re looking at music lovers above all people who know their classics so well they just nail it at faithfully transposing that awesome sound of the sixties. The journey began with “No Werewolf ”, a trippy Shadows-like instrumental track from their second LP “Worship The Sun”. It feels like you’re actually attending a jam-sesh between friends. But unlike thousands of other poorly inspired bands, everything in the Los Angeles-based foursome sounds authentic. So authentic that when they hit the small and friendly stage of Broadcast, the gig was sold out with 160 people. “Another one?” you might say. Again the album charted well in the same European countries as their previous effort.Summer might be over but September, 29th 2014 will definitely be remembered as one of the shiniest days of the year – and I’m not talking about another scary global warming alert! – for that night, anyone could just have chilled out to the Californian vibes that filled the Glaswegian air.The Allah-Las story is a cool one: four friends, three of them working at Amoeba – one of the biggest independent record stores – raised to the sound of the sixties, and deciding to go back to old-fashioned guitar music.

Since the new album had just been released, highlights were obviously their self-titled first album (“Catalina”, “Catamaran”). Where “oldies” like “No Voodoo” or “Tell Me (What’s On Your Mind)” went happily alongside their new songs such as “Follow You Down” and “501-415”. What more could you possibly want?So the band played an 18-track set lasting an hour. The excellent track “Long Journey” was almost-surreal, especially when drummer Matthew Correia took lead vocals whilst playing maracas – and he actually has a great voice! The point is, the whole gig felt like a chilled summer evening between friends that don’t take themselves seriously. Even the band themselves were quite surprised! It’s obvious that the band was having a good time, and I think you could definitely believe them when they said that they were pleased to be back in Glasgow. With the guys being multi-instrumentalists, the gig was like a game of musical chairs as each and every member switched from the guitar, to drums, to vocals. “Busman’s Holiday” went second, and there was something really magical when crowd sang-along.

Overall I had a great time! This may have been the greatest concert I've ever attended because something unusual happened I was so into the music that I spaced out out. On top of that, the band's set wasn't very long I assume it's so the live music doesn't disturb other customers. If you enjoy bands such as Mystic Braves, The Growlers, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Temples, Foxygen and Thee Oh Sees, then you'll love Allah-Las!The only problems with the show was that it was at Amoeba Music in Hollywood Amoeba isn't the problem, it's just that having to stand between aisles of CD's and vinyl's isn't very convenient I just wish there was some open space, to pit, dance and maybe even crowd surf. There's no way I can describe them it's good music it's sunny slow paced psychedelic tunes that you'd hear in my precedent of a desert music festival that isn't Coachella. Should there have been surfers on the Clyde, the night would have felt complete.Allah-Las were incredible unfathomably incredible, so unfathomably incredible that I con only think of three things that would've made the concert better than it already was.

I bought multiple copies of both these groups because I hit the repeat button so often. This cover of The band The Human Expression from 1966, is as uniquely cool and gripping as the original. To me their signature song is “Calm Me Down” because that is the song that led me to them. In conclusion, the Allah-Las are not a band to be missed! They've recently played many local shows such as Burgerama III, Echo Park Rising, Santa Monica Pier and FYF 2012 the Allah-Las will leave you in "awe-llah-la".I have been following this band for 5 years now, and to have finally seen them live just takes my breathe away! Augin Asbury Park,New Jersey- Thank you Asbury Park! This band sounds as good live as they do on records. If the Amoeba stage is considered their home, then it's very likely that they would play another live show at the store with future record releases.

That's not a deal breaker because instrumentally these guys are so solid. Some of their "fans" however were utter d-bags, including some girl who was shoving people, and got on the lip of the stage where she sat and kicked me while she screamed through the show shoving her phone in front of the crowd while she took selfies. Eleven or and the Brain Hotel were solid choices as openers for the Allah-Las, the latter having so much crazy good energy on stage that they were fun to watch as well as hear! The Allah-Las also had good energy, but unfortunately the sound levels in the Troub were so high that the lyrics were unintelligible. Thanks and please come to Cape May county in south Jersey.Last night's show was a tough one to review because every once in a while you get surrounded by people in a crowd that are so disruptive and rude that they actually damage the experience. All 3 bands were completely rad for doing a benefit for Let's Buy A Mountain. I do not care what anyone may say, to me you dudes are the coolest thing going today!!! Your sound is forever.Traveling to north Jersey to see Allas-Las was easy considering that I was willing to get tickets to Marfa,Texas, or anywhere in California to finally see them play.
